Name a hashtag that currently describes your day-to-day work.
I would say that a fitting hashtag for my daily work would be #bestteamever.
We are all busy finishing contracts for many plants at the moment, and my focus is of course on Scandinavia. We support each other in all our projects and it is good to know that there is an entire team ready to help with any challenge, big or small.
What do you find most exciting about the market situation right now?
A legislation about the organization of the waste incineration sector has been accepted in the Danish Parliament. The waste incineration plants must compete for the waste suitable for incineration, so that it is processed where it can be done in the most environmentally friendly and cheapest way.
It is estimated and expected to contribute to a more efficient sector and overall lead to lower heating prices and waste tariffs for Danes and Danish industry, but as you can imagine this is a very heated topic and discussion in the Danish sector. It will be very interesting to see how it develops and what consequences it might have on the import of waste. This new law is most likely applicable already from 1 July 2023.
How did you end up at the Brüning Group?
It was quite straight forward! The Brüning Group advertised an open position back in January and I applied. I had heard positive things about the company, and I was lucky enough to become a part of the WtE unit.
What or who really surprised you in a positive way at the Brüning Group?
The level of trust and confidence towards co-workers is very positive. And it is always nice coming to our office in Bremen or Fischerhude because everyone is friendly and welcoming.
If you could wake up tomorrow with a new professional skill, what would it be?
I would love to learn a skill like carpentry or being a gardener. I really enjoy the process of creating, and I do all sorts of stuff in our house and garden. I find it very calming and a nice contrast to a busy day with work and kids.
